By examining various factors such as feather appearance, eye color, cere color, leg band identification, and beak and nail condition, you can make an educated estimation of your budgie’s age.

Both male and female budgies can talk but males are much more vocal compared to females and learn to talk more easily. There are high chances that your budgie/parakeet will learn to talk but you need to be patient and consistent as the process is time taking.

Budgie’s jaws are not so powerful to puncture human skin and draw blood. You will only notice slight bruises in case of an aggressive bite. Rarely it is seen that budgies bite do draw blood when the soft part of the skin is victimized.

Budgies are definitely not loud birds and you can easily have them in your apartment. When compared to other parrots, budgies are definitely not loud and noisy birds. Generally budgies are classified into quietest of bird in the parrot family. They reach 65-70 decibels at their loudest which is safe and bearable.

The major cause due to which budgies break their eggs is the lack of calcium, vitamins, or minerals. Some other common causes include diseased eggs, lack of enough space, starting of a new clutch, fear, infertility, inadequate food, inexperienced breeder, etc.

Cere color is different and gender-specific which helps us determine the sex of a budgie. Reproductive hormones are responsible for cere coloration. Mostly budgie’s cere is light pink when they are born. So it is hard to tell the gender of a baby budgie as both males and females have the same pink cere. But after a few months, they change their cere color specific to their gender
